Nomination by Petition for Board of Directors
Official nominations for Board of Directors are made by the 4-County Committee on Nominations according to Association Bylaws, Other members may also place themselves on the ballot by completing the process necessary for a Nomination by Petition. There are certain deadlines that apply to the process which change every year. If the current year’s dates and deadlines do not appear, they may not be set. For 2020, petitions must be returned to the 4-County Corporate Center by close of business on April 3. If petitions are submitted earlier than the due date, 4-County will make every effort to identify any issues with a petition and advise the potential candidate on how to correct those issues. Please contact 4-County for more information. Forms and basic information on the process can be found here:
In addition, potential candidates for director must undergo a background check (the same background check all employees undergo). That background check is conducted by a third party and is to ensure that candidates meet the legal requirements set forth in the bylaws. Candidates must sign and return the appropriate documents with their completed Petition for Nomination.
